Shahrukh Khan Praises Salman Khan’s Ready

Sunday, June 5, 2011

Bollywood Actor Shahrukh Khan was all praise for Salman Khan’s upcoming film Ready and believes it’s going to be a hit

Bollywood’s number one Khan, Shahrukh Khan believes that arch rival Salman Khan’s Ready is going to be a hit. The actor is reported to have told a leading tabloid that he feels optimistic about the movie and that it is going to be a huge success. Khan, however, hasn’t confirmed whether he, personally, will go to see the movie, but guarantees that his two kids would go and watch the film.

Ready has been one of the most awaited films of the year and promises full on entertainment. This comedy flick will see Salman Khan do what he does best – fight, romance a girl and do his awkward dance, not to forget, make his audience laugh.

Ready box office report

Salman Khan and Bollywood heartthrob Asin’s latest flick Ready has taken the cinemagoers by storm. The film was underrated before it hit the cinema, but within a couple of days after its launch, it transpires that the bad boy of Indian cinema Salman seems to have given another super hit.

He is the most trusted actor of the Bollywood, whose films do well almost always. It happens very rarely that a producer loses his money by casting Sallu in his venture. The indefatigable Khan always helps his producers make lots of money.

This is the reason that when every actor including Akshay Kumar have reportedly slashed their rates for signing a film, Sallu bhai has increased his rates. And producers instead of deserting him due to high rates, are flocking to his residence to sign him for his munh mangi qeemat.

Ready’s first day performance was extremely satisfying. It collected more than Rs 140 million, thus surpassing the record of Amir Khan’s super duper successful film 3 Idiots. Mind you, Salman Khan’s Dabangg holds the record for the highest first week grossing.

Bhushan Kumar, the producer is optimistic that despite the usual practice of panning Salman Khan’s film as ordinary, Ready is on its way to be the biggest hit of the year.

In several places in the country, more especially in North India many show of the film begin at 5 am in the morning when it is still dark. Shah Rukh Khan, another Bollywood star and the bĂȘte noir of Sallu may rue the fact that he may never be able to get as good or half as good a response that Sallu gets from his fans.

The best thing about Ready is the fact that the response is getting better and better after every passing day. If the collection of the day one was 13.15 crore rupees, it went up substantially the next day and it has not declined even a bit

Salman Khans Ready takes a rip-roaring start at the box office

The Salman Khan magic is working again. His latest film Ready, despite being panned by majority of critics, is drawing footfalls to theatres. The Ready box office figures already have the distributors heaving a sigh of relief and eyeing a fat profit as well.

Directed by Anees Bazmee, the comedy film starring Asin and Salman Khan opened to a rip-roaring start on Friday. It saw the occupancy of 60 to 80 percent at both multiplexes and single screen theatres.

Salman hugs ex-girlfriend Katrina

Everybody knows that Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif have parted ways, but they are still close to each other. Unlike many lovers, who don’t see eye to eye after break up, Salman and Katrina are still good friends despite the split. They were even spotted hugging recently.

It happened on the sets of the reality show 'Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega'. Sources said that Katrina dropped in on the sets without prior notice. And on seeing Salman, she came forward and gave him a warm hug. She then greeted Farah Khan and Anu Malik, who were also shooting for the show. The actress seemed to have come to the sets just to meet her ex-beau, as she wasn’t shooting in that area.

Salman Khan felicitates workers of Film City

Friday, April 29, 2011

Salman Khan has shown his philanthropic side on many occasions and at the music launch of his upcoming film “Ready”, the actor did the same once again by felicitating workers living in the Film City here Monday.

Salman, invited Film City workers on the music launch and honoured them with clothes.

“When I was shooting for my film ‘Bodyguard’ I realised that there are so many people who work day in and day out and when we organise events we call such people, who don’t even appreciate anything. So I thought that we should call those people who work here,” Salman told reporters here.

“Ideas just come to my idea, so this time I thought why not felicitate the people of film city because these are the people who are the masses also and have also been a part of the film. We have shared such a long relationship with them and no one invites them for any events,” he added.

The workers were very excited to be getting gifts from Salman Khan and being honoured by the entire cast and crew of the film including Asin, Zarine Khan and director Anees Bazmee among others.

Not just this, Salman even opened chocolates and fed children of the workers, making a completely endearing sight.

Asin was elated too, to be part of this music launch with a difference.

“I feel very happy to be in front of the film city workers who have helped us make the film that we have made. It takes a lot of pride and pleasure to showcase our trailors and songs in front of all of them.

Salman Khan pays tribute to Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar in ‘Ready’

Salman Khan starrer “Ready” is about to hit the screens and one of the highlights of the movie is said to be the song “Character Dheela” where he will be seen paying tribute to legendary actors Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar and Dharamendra.Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film, which stars Asin Thottumkal in the feamle lead, is slated for a June 3 release.

Insiders have been raving about “Character Dheela”, which has more than one attraction to look forward to. For starters, the groovy number has a special guest appearance by Zarine Khan, who will be seen shaking a leg with Salman.

Secondly, the song will see Salman and Zarine playing different hit Hindi movie pairs of the past – the actors will be seen playing Shahzada Saleem and Anarkali respectively in one act. In another, Salman and Zarine will pay tribute to the showman Raj Kapoor and actress Nargis and the two will also recreate the magic of Viru and Basanti on screen. The song has been choreographed by Mudassar Khan, who has previously choreographed Salman in the superhit “Dabangg”.

Salman Khan’s ladies only bash

Salman Khan, one of the most sought after bachelors in filmdom, threw a ladies-only bash recently and his co-star Asin Thottumkal says the girls were happy to be partying with the Bollywood star.

The party was on Monday. After the music release of “Ready”, Salman decided to have an impromptu bash in his pad that has been put up for him at Film City for the shooting of his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri’s “Bodyguard”. His “Ready” co-star Asin and Zarine Khan immediately accompanied Salman.

“Well, it’s true. Salman invited all the female actors from ‘Ready’. We all went up to his very comfortable and large pad with a view. It has a garden and it has a beautiful view outside. Salman makes a wonderful host. The ladies were all happy to be partying. Suddenly Salman remembered their husbands and invited them too,” said Asin, who worked with him in “London Dreams” as well.

“It was great fun though. I was the odd one out since I don’t drink. After a while it gets boring for both me and the others guests to keep wondering why I am not drinking,” she added.

Asin is impressed by Salman’s bonding with the women in the cast. “All the ladies who play his aunts and relatives just dote on him. He makes them all feel like part of his extended family,” said the actress who is taking a break and going home.

“I am taking off for Kerala for a couple of weeks. At the moment I’ve no other Hindi film on hand. So I can afford the time off.”

Asin has apparently been offered everything from Anurag Basu’s “Barfee” to Sajid Nadiadwala’s “Kick”. But after films with Aamir Khan, Salman and Ajay Devgn, she’s at the moment looking at a film with a leading man of her own age group.

Salman Khan won’t get cosy with Sonakshi Sinha

Thursday, April 14, 2011

The Hindi remake of the Telugu blockbuster Kick is undergoing the process of script overhaul because the leading man Salman Khan is squeamish about cosying up to his co-star Sonakshi Sinha in the film.

After a long gap, producer Sajid Nadiadwala is working with Salman Khan again in the remake of Kick. But the film won’t be an exact copy of its Telugu original that had intense passion play between its leading stars Ravi Teja and Illeana D’Cruz. Obviously Salman saw the film he balked at the thought of canoodling with Sonakshi Sinha who is 22 years younger than him.

Salman is a very good friend of Shatrughan Sinha and very protective of Sonakshi. Even in Dabangg, if you recall, he had no intimate scenes with Sonakshi even though he was the dominating partner in the relationship.

So Salman’s brief to Nadiadwala for the Kick remake is simple -- chop out all the physical intimacy between the characters and make the romance more muted through silent glances, gestures and talks.

Nadiadwala has confirmed that the script is being reworked to tone down the intimacy between the leading characters. But the gist of the story will remain the same.

Pic - Salman Khan guards Kareena Kapoor

Salman Khan turns into a handsome bodyguard for Kareena Kapoor in producer Atul Agnihotri’s upcoming film Bodyguard.

In the movie, Salman plays a brawny bodyguard who takes on the job of guarding Kareena Kapoor, the daughter of a liquor baron. Salman accompanies her to college and never leaves her side, much to her annoyance. So Kareena along with her friend (played by Hazel Keech) tries to fool Salman by calling him from an anonymous phone number and pretending that she (the caller) is in love with him. The charade turns real when Kareena actually falls for Salman but fears her powerful father.

It’s learnt that Salman observed the real bodyguards of VVIPs at the Cricket World Cup matches to understand their mannerisms and body language.

“Salman Khan wanted to know the body language of SPG. These guys are trained to blend and protect Z plus personalities. All protection is an eye play. Salman, though not a frantic cricket buff watched the Indo-Pak match without missing a second,” producer Atul Agnihotri is quoted to have said.

‘Bodyguard’ is set for release in August this year. It is a remake of the last year’s Malayalam blockbuster of the same title. Siddique, who directed the original film, directs the Hindi remake as well.

Deepika Paduknone fills Katrina Kaif’s Shoes

Friday, April 8, 2011

Film maker Aditya Chopra has signed actress Deepika Padukone instead of Katrina Kaif opposite Salman Khan in his next untitled film to be directed by Kabir Khan

As the saying goes “One man’s loss in the other man’s gain.” This seems to hold true for Deepika Padukone who seems to be gaining the most of the Salman-Katrina break-up. Supposedly, director Kabir Khan was very keen to work with actress Katrina Kaif and was considering her as the lead in his next project with Yash Raj Films. This was before Salman Khan was roped in for the film. However, Salman refused to work with Kaif and said he’d much prefer working with Deepika, reveals a source. Hence, it is believed, Aditya Chopra zeroed on Deepika and signed her on.
Actresses Kareena  Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra were also considered for the role. Kareena was left out due to her past spat with YRF over the promos of Roadside Romeo(2008). Priyanka was dropped due to some issues she had will Salman and it is said that Chopra was skeptic whether she would want to work with the actor or not.
Birdie Tweets: Well Deepika! Are you avenging the loss of Ranbir Kapoor to Katrina Kaif by stepping into her shoes?
